I purchased 2 of these brand new on ebay because we have 2 Coleman sleeping bags that have no storage cases, only the clear plastic packaging they came in. I just got this bag to complete my Big Agnes sleeping system. It is a 650 fill goose down bag with a fill weight of 17 ounces and bag weight of 3lb 2oz for the Long size. (Reg. size 16 oz. and a measly 2lb 12oz) The bag is very well built, lightweight, and compressible, and comes with a cotton storage sack and a stuff sack. The first thing I noticed when I took it out of it's package was how well the down lofted up and was not clumpy.

Once inside the bag, the large collar seal and draft tube keep you warm. There is also a pillow pocket that can be stuffed with a fleece or your camp pillow, and finally there a loops to hold your sleeping bag liner. This bag works best with any of the BIg Agnes 20" rectangular insulated pads. The integrated pad sleeve means that you will never roll off of the pad. Big Agnes sleeping bags are not insulated on the bottom of the bag, only the upper two thirds of the bag are. This reduces the bags weight substantially and also makes sense, because any compressible insulation will not work as well while it is compressed with your body weight. Therefore, you must rely on the pad for your insulation, which also makes sense!

The bag is very light and compact. In the compression sack it measures about 14 inches by 7 inches without an awful lot of effort, which works quite well for me(could probably get it smaller if you wanted to). The compression sack and straps don't feel incredibly strong, but they get the job done.

This is great for summer camping. It's lightweight and it's compressible that it's great for those who don't like to haul around bulky camp gears. Also, they don't tell you that they suggest using a commercial size, front loading washing machine to wash them, which I don't have. They also don't tell you that you have to hang dry these mats, which takes up a lot of rack space if you don't have a clothes line! I do like several things: I like the how the mats are long enough for my kids who are pretty tall; I like how the blanket that goes over them is thicker than just a sheet; and I like that the pillows are removeable for washing. I bought this lightweight bag for summer camping, packrafting and backpacking.

I'm 5'10 and ~225, and this bag is a tight squeeze, but not terribly so.

It compresses down quite nicely and would be hard to beat at the price.

It came with a little stuff sack with compression straps, but with the bag alone in the sack the straps don't really do anything, since even when they are fully tightened, there is still slack in the bag.

They'd be useful if you put in a liner or outer shell to add warmth to this bag I think, but otherwise they don't do much.

Not much else to say, I've found it comfortable, but obviously ymmv.

If i Had any complaints at all, its in the finish stitching (there are loose strings everywhere and pulling to tear them off would pull the stitching loose). Oh, and as stated b4 there is no stuff sack included and there is no way its a 5* bag. 25* at best, cause even with two people inside me and the wife were simply comfy at 50* last night. Me being a "warm" sleeper at that and didn't have to vent to keep from feeling too hot.

Well from what I read online it is close to what I expected. Regular details from product description are right on.

First of all if you are planning on car/wkd camping in cold weather then this bag is perfect. This bag is a little on the heavy side and is by far way bigger than what I had thought.

If you are doing any kind of hiking where weight and bag space are important look else where because this bag isn't for you.

As for cold, at first it will seem cold but as your body warms up the bag it will cook you. I started off with long underwear, shorts, wool top, and two long sleeve shirts. By the morning I was in nothing more than a pair of boxers. I was also hiking the AT and it happened to snow that evening. So yes it will keep you very toasty in the cold.

If you plan to stuff clothes in your bag so they are warm in the morning too and you like leg room I'd recommend the Long. The straps around the head opening are really nice too b/c you can close it down to where only your nose sticks out for air.

If you sleep in light clothes, don't assume it will keep you warm below 45 or so without a decent liner (even with the foot box closed). But that's typical for most brands.

The vented foot box allows air to circulate and reduces the moisture in the bag. However, opening it lets the cold air in. So I only open it halfway. If you open it fully, you will need a warm liner even at 50 degrees.

The only reason it doesn't get 5 stars is the zipper. It does get stuck sometimes when zipping up, even though its design (the "Anti-Snag Zipper Protection") appears to make this unlikely. Also, if you unzip too far, there is no stop- the zipper just comes apart. It's a minor hassle to put the zipper back together when your fingers and cold and only partially operable in the morning.

After half a dozen camping trips so far, in hot and cold weather, there doesn't appear to be any durability issue.

This pillow was great for travel on an international trip. It's light to have in a carry on and hard to miss since it's bright orange. I also slept on the soft side of the pillow without a case and it comfortable and didn't irritate. My only complaint is that sometimes the pillow got a little hot (probably because of the down, although I think the down is what made it so comfortable). Sleeping bag washing instructions are for front loader machine only. We have washed the pillow in our top loader on a delicate/cold cycle. Color faded a tiny bit after 1st washing.

Perfect summer bag when packing small is not a concern. The bag seems to be well made and after repeated uses I can definitely say that the 40 degree rating is accurate. My only complaints would be that it does not come with a nylon stuff sack (instead is comes with a weird rectangular cotton bag with handles) and that it does not pack down very small. So this isn't the bag for an extended backpacking trip, but for the price it's the perfect mild weather car camping bag.
