I do think this is a great bed and that we will get plenty of use and fun out of it, but it is not warm enough for camping. The only thing separating the child from the cold airmatress is the fitted sheet. I think that in some homes that is not even warm enough for a sleepover. So our fix is just to put a fleece blanket down on top of the fitted sheet. And we have taken it camping and our daughter was plenty warm with some fleece PJ's and some extra blankets.
